Wednesday 25th February
Real Madrid v Liverpool
REAL win @ 2.15
In the glamour tie on Wednesday night Liverpool travel to the Santiago Bernabeu for a match-up with in form Real Madrid. Since ‘Magic’ Juande (pictured right) took over at Real the men from the Spanish capital have been in irresistible form having won 9 games on the trot. During that amazing run Real have scored an impressive 22 goals while conceding just 2.
Whilst Real’s form has greatly increased in the last few months Liverpool have suffered quite a slump. Back in December they looked like real candidates for the Premiership crown, however, they currently find themselves 7 points behind Man United and with a real mountain to climb.
Liverpool captain and their top scorer in this season’s competition Steven Gerrard is expected to be fit and ready for this huge game. He and former Atletico Madrid striker Fernando Torres (pictured left) will as always provide the main goal threat for the English outfit. Liverpool often find their best form in Europe so they should not be completely discounted nevertheless it seems highly improbable that they’ll get anything from this game.
Real’s confidence is sky high and with their exciting Dutch midfield duo of Arjen Robben and
Wesley Sneijder (pictured below) providing the crosses for the in-form Raul and Higuain we feel Real will have enough about them to secure a victory. Benitez will as always have his team motivated and organised so don’t expect an avalanche of goals however, Real should have enough firepower to sneak a victory available at 2.15.
Real’s captain Raul Gonzalez seems to have been around for ages. With 6 goals in his last 5 fixtures the wily veteran has proved that there’s plenty of life in the old dog yet.
