OCTOBER 13th - 19th
A week of interesting sporting encounters provided as much entertainment as it did profit for the Betdreamers team.
Tennis saluted Jelena Jankovic, a Serb who put her tennis elbow to good use, (as opposed to the dodgy use applied by Nemanja Vidic last week!) winning through to secure her third WTA title in as many weeks. Jankovic took home the Kremlin cup and cemented her place in the number one spot of world rankings after snatching it from the clutches of Serena Williams in the previous week.
In times of uncertainty in the snooker world, we were happy to focus on the Snooker Grand Prix- a tournament which should remain UK based for the forseeable future. Captivating stuff from Glasgow has so far provided a decent serving of green baize action and looks sure to give us betdreaming options until the winner is crowned next weekend.
In other news, the Formula One visited again, this time in Fuji. A familiar background gave way to unpredictable outcomes (the betdreamer team had reservations about this sports fixture, and rightly so). Going into the race with pole position in every manner of speaking possible, Lewis Hamilton proceeded to lose his head, the race and his comfortable lead. Fernando Alonso took the reigns and managed to achieve back-to-back Grand PRix victories, re-establishing himself as the best F1 driver on paper and currently in the flesh. It was a meaty race to watch with the two frontrunners colliding and both picking up penalty points for overly-aggressive driving on the super fast Japan circuit.
Once again the Betdreamers are counting the profit from another successful week in sports betting. 100% correct in the last seven days means that we are sitting pretty on a fat bankroll. Yes, economic forecasts may be terrible, but the sports markets are highly predictable and profitable when you betdream! The beginining of the week saw us place our faith again in Rushden and Diamonds - this time it was not misplaced and we took home the silver. A focus on foreign domestic and lower English leagues guaranteed winning bets and so we have zero loss to boast about - check out the archives for full previews and analysis to get an impression of just how we come about our predictions.
Before we continue we’d like to make a special mention for Seve Ballesteros. Having been diagnosed with a brain tumour, we wish him and his family all the best and a speedy recovery.
Now we look towards the week ahead which, due to the international World Cup Qualifers, sees us with a lightweight football fixture list. On the international stage it is hard to pick decent bets in qualifying rounds but we endeavour to bring them wherever possible. In particular, the clashes of Eastern Europe featuring Czech Rep. & Slovenia and Slovakia & Poland may provide some odds worth taking.
On the other hand, in the other betting slip, up until next weekend we move from one kind of GP to another as we look to take advantage of the Snooker Grand Prix. With the Rocket Ronnie O’Sullivan smarting from his last defeat, and provided he keeps his head straight, he’ll be in the running to scalp the likes of Hendry, Davis and Higgins as well as several other greats still in the tournament.
Tennis is serving up more aces on the tour with the return of the Zurich Open and Madrid Masters. With the Williams sisters out of action, the rest of the girls are free to play which should result in some great tennis bouts with spellbinding rallies.
And so we come full circle from F1 GP to Snooker GP and back to motorsports with the MotoGP. Valentino Rossi tops the bill as expected but this season he faced stern challenge from last years success story - the Aussie, Casey Stoner (he’s one that certainly does NOT live up to his name!). Rossi Vs. Stoner equals Yamaha Vs. Ducati and while Yamaha and Rossi have streamed away in both the constructors’ and the drivers’ championships, all racers are still locked in battle - at least psychologically - with just two races left in the season. Malaysia’s Poloni circuit beckons and we’ll keep you up-to-date with anything worthwhile in terms of bringing in the paper money - leave the betdreaming to us, all you have to do is click!
We pay homage to arguably the best motorcyclist of all time…On his home soil, the legendary, Valentino Rossi…
